    Aunty Belle Spices it Up!

    Nyonya chef Christibelle Savage, fondly known as Auntie Belle, brings the unique tastes of Peranakan dishes to The Saujana Kuala Lumpur. Peranakan cuisine, which Auntie Belle translates as “mixture”, evolved out of the blending of Malay and Chinese cooking styles and, over the years, Indonesian flavours have been added to the mix. The cooking style is characterized by sweet, sour, spicy, and pungent flavours.

    For 20 years she has been a guest chef with hotel chains traveling around the world, teaching the local chefs how to prepare her spiced dishes and standing proudly by the buffet tables filled with rich, pungent spices and flavours as she explains what people are eating. She has travelled to Singapore, China, Taiwan, India, Indonesia, United States, and has now found her base at The Saujana Hotel Kuala Lumpur.

    Auntie Belle welcomes all to try her signature dishes – ayam masak buah keluak or black nut chicken, prawn curry with pineapple and Nyonya chap-chai, and more!
